Eudaimonia is the word I keep reaching for when I think about our friendship. It means flourishing. The word fits better than plain happiness.
We met through social media at HTN 2021, and Montaigne’s line about friendship fits here: “we sought one another long before we met.”
Our conversations pick up as if they never paused across cities and apps.

Adrienne Maree Brown’s web image fits too. “A web allows things to fall through, like a sieve,” she said. “Some things are not meant to be caught.”
What our web catches is the part I want to keep: the conversations, the care for craft, and the quiet pride in watching each other grow from afar.

I love seeing you find your rhythm in Toronto. Even though we didn’t win at [[posts/new|New]], it showed me again how much of yourself you put into building something.

We live in different cities and move through different events/timezones :smile:.
Yet every time we reconnect, the friendship is still immediate. Ava’s minimum viable friendship has been useful to me here. We do not need a grand gesture for the friendship to stay alive. We need enough honest moments to keep the thread warm.

Here is to another year of catching what is worth keeping. May 2025 find you well and still flourishing.
